This mountain is located in the southern part of the Cordillera Blanca, surrounded by little-explored mountains such as Tuco, Caullaraju, Challhua, and others. Huarapasca is a mountain that offers an accessible and fun experience for those who wish to do technical wall climbing.
It has 3 pitches of 60 meters, with angles from 60° to 65°, making it ideal for gaining experience in ice climbing techniques. It is also an excellent mountain for acclimatization and preparation before a more technically demanding expedition, as it has become popular among mountaineers due to its quick and short access.

Itinerary

Huaraz (3100m) – Huarapasca (5420m)

Very early in the morning (2 am), we depart with our private transport toward the south side of Huaraz, approximately a 3-hour drive to the base of our mountain at an altitude of 4800m. From here, we prepare our backpacks and start ascending a rocky terrain of about 1 km until reaching the base of the glacier, where we put on crampons, harnesses, and rope up to begin our ascent. We start with the 3 pitches of technical climbing, then reach the plateau and continue ascending to the summit, which offers a splendid panoramic view of many previously mentioned snowcapped mountains, while also observing the Huayhuash Range with its imposing Yerupajá peak. After taking great photos, we return via the same route. On the wall where we climbed the three pitches, we descend by rappels until exiting the glacier, then meet our private transport, which takes us back to the city of Huaraz.
