Itinerary

Huaraz (3100m) – Carhuaz – Shonguilpampa (3600m) – Laguna 513 (4450m) – Huaraz
We depart from Huaraz at 6:00 am heading north to the Province of Carhuaz (approximately 40 minutes). From here we change direction towards the east, passing through small Andean villages until reaching the place called Shonguilpampa. From here we start the hike with views in front of us of Hualcán, Huascarán, and Copa. Along the way we find a small lagoon called Rajupaquinan, which offers beautiful views with the surrounding quenual forests. Continuing along a zigzag trail, we reach our destination, which is Laguna 513. We enjoy the views, take good photos, and return along the same trail to our destination for the day.
