Rocotuyoc Lagoon – Frozen Lagoon

Departure from the city of Huaraz heading to the district of Marcará. We take a detour heading east, passing through the Vicos peasant community. We enter Huascarán National Park, where we will pay the entrance tickets, and continue through the Paccharuri valley until reaching the Paccha Waterfall. We will enjoy the views of this beautiful and large waterfall, which hosts a large number of native plants such as Quenual and others. Next, we will head to Rocotuyoc Lagoon, which welcomes us with its turquoise and emerald waters that change color along its course. We will also visit the Frozen Lagoon, which requires a 45-minute hike to reach. Here, we will see floating ice forming in the lagoon due to glacial melting caused by climate change. We will observe the snow-capped peaks of Paccharaju, Bayoraju, Copa, and Vicos, making this circuit one of the most beautiful scenic spots in the Cordillera Blanca. Along the way, we will have lunch before returning to the city of Huaraz, where the service concludes.
