It is located in the heart of the Cordillera Blanca. Lately, it has become one of the most climbed mountains due to its quick access, short approach, and as a good alternative for acclimatization for higher mountains. In the Quechua language, it means “the snow peak of dreams” and offers one of the most striking views from the city of Huaraz. The ascent to this snow peak does not present major technical difficulties, making the summit relatively easy via the normal route – southwest slope.

Itinerary

Day 1: Huaraz (3100m) – Quebrada Llaca (4350m) – Campo Morrena (4900m)

After breakfast at the chosen hotel, we will transfer with our private transport to Quebrada Llaca, approximately 2 hours. Then we will begin ascending along a zigzag trail to Campo Morrena, approximately 3 hours. We will have great views of the Ranrapalca and Ocshapalca peaks.
