This tour travels through the southern part of the Callejón de Huaylas and the Cordillera Blanca. We will visit the towns of Recuay, Ticapampa, and Catac, and finally enter Huascarán National Park. This glacier is still worth visiting despite having lost 40% of its ice in recent years. We cannot help but be impressed by the enormous ice cliffs and the great Puya de Raymondi, a rare bromeliad plant that reaches 15 meters in height and blooms only once in its lifetime.
- Type of tour: Bus tour, adventure.
- Visit: Carbonated Water / Puya Raimondi / Pastoruri Glacier.
Itinerary
Huaraz (3100m) – Pastoruri Glacier – Huaraz
Departure is at 8:00 am from your selected hotel. We will travel by tourist transport south of the city of Huaraz, visiting towns such as Recuay, Ticapampa, and Cátac, and then arrive at the control point of Huascarán National Park, where the entrance fee must be paid. Continuing our journey, we will reach one of the tour stops known as Carbonated Water, where we will enjoy impressive views of the valley. We will then observe the abundant presence of the Puya de Raymondi, a type of bromeliad that grows at these altitudes. After that, we will arrive at the parking area, where we will begin walking along a well-marked trail to the Pastoruri Glacier. We will enjoy the views offered by nature; taking good photos is recommended, and it is important to respect the indications along the trail.
