Located in the Cordillera Negra to the south of the city of Huaraz. It is a peaceful and strategic spot for excellent views and is, of course, considered a viewpoint of the Cordillera Blanca. Just a few hours from the city of Huaraz, you can leave not too early and enjoy the beauty this place offers.
Itinerary
Huaraz (3100m) – Village of Chiwipampa – Willcacocha Lagoon – Huaraz
We leave the city of Huaraz around 9:00 am with our transportation heading to the village of Chiwipampa, approximately 20 minutes away. From here, we start the hike along a zigzag trail to the Lagoon (approximately 3 hours of walking). We will have many snow-capped peaks in view, which is why this spot is considered the Viewpoint of the Cordillera Blanca. After enjoying our snack and taking great photos, we return along the same trail back to Huaraz.
